PhotoScape X FAQ: Versions, Platforms, Pro, and Safe Downloads
Short, honest answers to the questions people ask most about PhotoScape X and PhotoScape 3.7. Where a fact is version-specific, we say which platform it applies to, because the Mac and Windows releases do not always move together.
1. What is the latest version of PhotoScape X?
On Mac, the latest version is 4.3.1, released on 8 October 2026, requiring macOS 13 or later. On Windows, check the Microsoft Store listing for the current build, because the official changelog’s last complete entry is 4.2.1 from 21 January 2022 and Windows releases since then are best confirmed in the Store itself.
2. Which platforms does PhotoScape X run on?
PhotoScape X runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 through the Microsoft Store, and on macOS through the Mac App Store. Those are the only two platforms. The current Mac version requires macOS 13 or later and runs natively on Apple Silicon.
3. Is PhotoScape X free, and what is Pro?
PhotoScape X is free to download and use, with a Pro tier that unlocks additional tools, filters, and materials that are marked as Pro inside the app. Pro is a paid unlock offered through the app stores. PhotoScape 3.7, the older classic version, is freeware.
4. Is there a portable version of PhotoScape X?
No. There is no official portable version of PhotoScape X. The app is installed and updated through the Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store only, so any portable copy offered elsewhere is unofficial.
5. Is PhotoScape X available for Android or iPhone?
No. Mooii Tech does not publish an official PhotoScape X app for Android or iOS. Apps using a similar name in mobile stores are not the official product, and we recommend editing on a supported Windows PC or Mac instead.
6. Is there an online version of PhotoScape X?
No. There is no official web-based or online edition of PhotoScape X. It is a desktop app for Windows and macOS. Websites claiming to be PhotoScape X online are not run by Mooii Tech.
7. What is the difference between PhotoScape X and PhotoScape 3.7?
PhotoScape 3.7 is the classic version from 2014, made for older Windows systems such as Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, and offered as freeware. PhotoScape X is the current product for Windows 10, Windows 11, and Mac. Mooii Tech itself advises Windows 10 and Mac users to use PhotoScape X.
8. What are the system requirements?
For Mac, PhotoScape X 4.3.1 requires macOS 13 or later. For Windows, you need Windows 10 or Windows 11 on a 64-bit system, installed through the Microsoft Store. If your computer cannot meet those requirements, PhotoScape 3.7 may suit an older Windows PC.
9. Where can I download PhotoScape X safely?
Only from the official stores: the Microsoft Store for Windows and the Mac App Store for Mac, where the developer is Mooii Tech. PhotoScape X has no official standalone installer file, so a downloadable installer offered by another website is not an official copy. For PhotoScape 3.7, use the official PhotoScape website.
10. How do I uninstall PhotoScape X?
On Windows, open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps, select PhotoScape X, and choose Uninstall; the same page offers Repair and Reset options that fix many problems without uninstalling. On a Mac, quit the app and drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash, or delete it from Launchpad, then reinstall from the App Store if you want it back.
11. Does PhotoScape X support RAW files, including CR3?
PhotoScape X includes RAW support, and its developer notes mention RAW support improvements, but coverage depends on the camera model and on keeping the app updated through its store. Very new cameras, including some Canon CR3 models, may not be supported yet; in that case, convert the file with your camera maker’s software first and edit the converted copy.
12. Is this website the official PhotoScape site?
No. PhotoScapeX.org is an unofficial resource site and is not affiliated with Mooii Tech, the developer of PhotoScape. The official sites are photoscape.org for the classic version and x.photoscape.org for PhotoScape X. We publish guides and honest information; downloads should always be taken from the official stores or the official site.
